Stem cells can be found in many parts of the body but are concentrated in the bone marrow. Through a simple and nearly painless procedure, bone marrow can be aspirated from the patient and concentrated by placing it in a centrifuge. Stem cells can then be injected into the damaged or injured area. When the bodies own stem cells are injected into a joint or injured tissue, the body's natural repair efforts are amplified and inflammation is reduced.

Stem cells from bone marrow can be can be effective for orthopedic conditions such as Degenerative Joint Disease. Stem cells injected into various joints including knee, hip, shoulder, and back are now done regularly for degenerative arthritis. Reports have shown regeneration and a reduction in pain from 6 months to several years. Serial MRI’ have confirmed the reversal of the arthritic disease. Treatment effectiveness from 36 centers provided data with the average clinical improvement being 82%.

What does IPRMS do with Stem Cells?

How do Stem Cells work?

Mesenchymal Stem Cells are master cells, think of as a blank slate. MSC can self-renew by dividing or it can aid in creating any one of 200 tissues types including bone, cartilage, muscle and fat cells, and connective tissue. It does this using signals – They transmit a message to all the cells in your body (from its immediate surrounding environment & the distant body environment – pituitary or brain) to come help repair and regenerate an injured area.

What are Stem Cells?

Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In addition, in many tissues they serve as of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells. When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential either to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell.

Where do Stem Cells come from?

Stem cells can be harvested from your own body or you can elect to use donated cells. When referring to the procedure where stem cells are harvested from your own bone marrow we call that Bone Marrow Derived Stem Cell Injection Therapy. On the other hand, if we are discussing using donated product it’s Umbilical Cord Tissue Cell Therapy.

How well does it work?
